About Clyde Evely PhD

I have had a long abiding interest in understanding better the biological nature of our humanity, especially how brain and art relate, beginning in college studying linguistics and Susanne Langer, obtaining a MS in Speech and Language Pathology, which I practiced for 10 years, and then my PhD in clinical psychology. After retiring some years ago from professional duties, my wife and I moved to the old family farm in a high mountain valley in SW Virginia where we grew and sold organic vegetables, fruit, flowers and herbs at 2 farmers’ markets a week in season. We have stopped that now as our bodies began to complain too much, but I still regard myself as a farmer-philosopher, a mongrel breed seeking to understand the biology of our humanity and our place in the world.
